Boo- celebrate halloween with Heidi Swapp Storyline

Halloween is one of my favourite times of the year. A few weeks ago I had a little photo shoot with some Halloween Marquee masks. I wanted to record this memory as soon as possible so I grabbed some of my Heidi Swapp Deck Of Days cards from the Storyline collection, a fun cut file from the Silhouette store and got to work.

Heidi Swapp Storyline

Once I cut out the Frankenstein shape from my cardstock I got to work creating a patchwork with the Deck of Days cards. Once I adhered the cards  down to a second piece of cardstock  I stitched around the outline with my sewing machine for added texture.

I then used pop dots to add in the facial features to my Frankenstein. I love the depth and shadow this creates on my layout.

This is definitely my most favourite way to use the Deck Of Days cards, to me the possibilities are endless.

I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate than using my brand new Heidi Swapp Lightbox!
Now what's new you may ask? Well just take a look at my second photo...
The new look lightbox comes in either a soft pink or soft mint edge! How cool is that!

Choose Happy Unicorn layout

It is not often I get to be all girly with my scrapbooking so when I had the chance to create a layout about a fun dress up day at work with the theme of enchanted forests I couldn't wait to get started.
I decided to create my layout combing the yummy Maggie Holmes Carousel  collection from
Crate Paper and some of the delish  InstaxVintage filler cards from Heidi Swapp.
I added in that cute cut file I found in the Silhouette online store and my layout came together.

I loved layering some of the Carousel embellishments over the Instax cards for a cohesive feel to my layout.

The soft pretty colours in the papers and embellishments complement my photos Perfectly!

Heidi Swapp friendship Letterboard display

I love finding new ways to celebrate my friends, whether it be spending time chatting over a coffee, creating little hand made gifts they may like or sending funny texts messages to each other one thing I know is that friends are important!

I wanted to share the love a little more with a little display I set up at home in my front entry way. I wanted to mix and match items to create a fun and happy feel, so I grabbed my large  Heidi Swapp Letterboard, my Mini Lightbox and my Lightbox shelf  and set about creating my vignette. I looked online for a couple of quotes I could use and away I went.

I love how the different shapes and different sizes of the Letterboard and Lightboxes create an eclectic feel. I popped my Mini Lightbox on top of my Shelf Lightbox for another layer in the story.

For my Letterboard quote I used a combination of the Black 2 inch letters, The Pink Love word set and Pink 1 inch letters. The black and pink really pops off the white background of the Letterboard.

I then slipped the "Best Version of Yourself" insert into my shelf lightbox. I love that the teal background insert coordinates with the Teal letters in the Mini Lightbox.

For my Mini Lightbox quote I mixed and matched three fonts-the Mini Lightbox Teal alphabet, the Mini Lightbox Pink alphabet and the Mini Lightbox Bold black alphabet. I also slipped in that cute Dancing girls slide from the Mini Lightbox Icon Emoji set. I love how the different pops of color creates a fun effect.

It is so lovely to come home from work each afternoon and walk inside to see my little display. Each time I look at it I think about my friends and it reminds me of how important they are to me!

Heidi Swapp Vintage Instax cards

Sometimes I like to think a little outside the box! When Heidi set me the task this week to use the Instax Vintage collection.  I wanted to try something a little different. I decided to use some of my Vintage Instax Filler cards to create a back ground for two fun layouts. Using the Floral, Friends and Travel Filler cards I created both a  feminine and masculine layout. I added in some of my Storyline Deck of Days cards to help complete my layouts.

Let me start with my first layout.

Heidi Swapp Vintage Instax and Storyline

To begin with I took out two of the 12 x 12 pages from my Storyline album and ran one of them through my Silhouette cameo to cut the large circle. The second page I cut out that fun palm tree that I had downloaded from the Silhouette design store.

I  grabbed my Instax Vintage Filler cards and my photo and pulled out some of the cards that coordinated with the colors and theme of my photo. I then started laying them out around the circle. Once I liked the placement I came in with some of the Storyline Deck Of Days cards from the Motivational set to fill in some of the vacant places. I then took another 12 inch piece of cardstock, traced a circle using the cut circle and adhered my cards down. I then laid my cut circle page on top.

I added my journaling using my We R Memory Keepers typecast typewriter. First I used the pink frame from the Filler cards and traced the inside of the frame onto some white copy paper. I then ran it through my typewriter keeping the typing within the drawn area. I trimmed and adhered it to the frame and added it into my circle.I added that yellow epoxy word Hello from the Yellow Stationery Embellishment kit as my title.

I used some pop dots to add the palm tree over the circle design and added one of the heart Storyline cards under the palm leaves.

To complete my layout I added some of the clear stickers that come in the Filler card packs onto my photo and onto the frame with the journaling. I love the color combo of navy, yellow and rich plum in the cards, it creates a strong sense of contrast and interest .

My next layout is a more masculine page.

Heidi Swapp Vintage Instax and Storyline

Again I took one of the 12 x 12 Storyline pages and used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the rocket shape.

I then grabbed the Travel Filler card set and added that "Adventure is Calling" card with the clouds which was a perfect match to my theme.

Heidi Swapp Vintage Instax and Storyline

Again I filled in my rocket shape with more of my Storyline Deck Of Days cards.

Heidi Swapp Vintage Instax and Storyline

I layered one of the journaling Filler cards under the Silver Glitter frame from the Filler card then added a Storyline Deck Of days card for further texture.

I then slipped another of the Cloud Filler cards to further embellish my layout.

It really was fun to customize my own backgrounds for both my layouts. It is such a cool technique if you cannot find pattern paper to suit your photo of theme.
